The opening of the Ikeja shop comes on the heels of growing demand for reliable solar energy alternatives in urban centres. This new location is a fully integrated experience centre designed for end-users, EPC partners, and distributors to explore, engage, and receive comprehensive support on solar energy solutions.

With offerings ranging from plug-and-play systems to larger installations, the Ikeja shop provides access to the complete itel Energy portfolio, including solar panels, batteries, inverters, all-in-one (AIO) systems, and accessories.

Customers and distributors alike will also benefit from on-site consultation, product testing, and real-time technical support, all backed by itel’s industry-leading after-sales service framework.

For us at itel Energy, customer experience doesn’t end at the point of purchase. It begins there,” said Olaotan Fawehinmi, PR manager of itel Energy.

“This Ikeja Store is purpose-built for distributors and EPC partners to easily access support and logistics, while also allowing end users to experience, understand, and trust the technology they’re buying. With a 3-year replacement warranty on inverters and a 5-year warranty on batteries, plus our Carlcare centres across all 36 states, we are redefining what after-sales care means in this industry.”

The event gathered key industry players, EPC engineers, business owners, and local distributors who praised itel Energy’s customer-centric model and business-friendly structure.

I’ve worked with several solar brands, but itel Energy stands out,” said John Nwoye, General Manager, Flotel Electronics Limited. “The products are reliable, the pricing is competitive, and the after-sales service is unmatched. Having a physical shop and support team here in Computer Village makes doing business faster and far more efficient.”

This is a game changer,” James Agbo, operations manager, Flotel Electronics Limited. “Beyond the products, itel understands the Nigerian customer and the Nigerian Market. From flexible warranty options to nationwide service coverage and instant tech support, it’s clear they’re in it for the long haul.”

The Computer Village experience centre is the latest in a series of physical touchpoints being rolled out by itel Energy nationwide. Each location is designed to serve multiple tiers of customers, from walk-in consumers and solar installers to regional distributors, while upholding the brand’s ethos of affordable quality, service excellence, and innovation.

At the launch event, Itel Solar Energy also introduced its latest 3.6kWh All-in-One (AIO) solar system, which was enthusiastically received and quickly sold out.

The new AIO offers a compact solution that fits perfectly with the needs of urban dwellers, students, and small business owners who require plug-and-play energy options.

Encouraged by the strong market response, the brand announced plans to roll out even more portable energy storage products across its stores in the coming weeks.

This move is driven by the growing demand for flexible, mobile power solutions among Nigerians who face irregular electricity supply, rising fuel costs, and the need for uninterrupted productivity, whether at home, in shops, or on the go.

The shop will also act as a logistics base for regional EPC partners, ensuring quicker product fulfilment and on-ground support during installations and large-scale solar deployments.

itel Solar Energy Commissions First Training Centre at the University of Ibadan https://techeconomy.ng/itel-solar-energy-commissions-first-training-centre-at-ui/ https://techeconomy.ng/itel-solar-energy-commissions-first-training-centre-at-ui/#respond Fri, 30 May 2025 12:14:30 +0000 https://techeconomy.ng/?p=159779 In a bid to empower Nigerian youth and accelerate the adoption of renewable energy, itel Solar Energy has officially commissioned its first Solar Energy Training Centre in partnership with the University of Ibadan (UI).

The commissioning ceremony, held on Thursday, May 29, is an important achievement in the company’s education-focused corporate social responsibility (CSR) and long-term talent development strategy.

The project is part of itel Solar Energy’s commitment to education, capacity building, and long-term investment in the country’s green economy while driving awareness and adoption of solar energy among younger demographics.

Through this partnership with Nigeria’s premier university, the initiative offers a comprehensive solar education and skill acquisition program that blends classroom learning with hands-on technical training.

itel Solar Energy is offering a weekly solar energy training program to students. The training is designed to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience, including hands-on sessions in solar installation and energy systems.

In addition to the core program, merit-based scholarships will be awarded to the most outstanding participants, providing financial support and motivation for academic excellence.

The top graduates from each cohort will also receive guaranteed job placements within itel Solar Energy’s growing operations, particularly in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and marketing departments.

Speaking at the event, Professor Kayode Adebowale, vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan, expressed the institution’s enthusiasm about the partnership.

He said, “On behalf of the University of Ibadan, I would like to sincerely appreciate Itel Solar Energy for this impactful initiative. The opportunities and benefits extended to our students, from hands-on training to scholarships and internship opportunities, are deeply commendable.

“We believe this marks the beginning of a meaningful and enduring partnership, one that will yield mutual value for years to come. Thank you for extending a hand of benevolence and for investing in the future of our youth.”

As part of its support to the university, itel Solar Energy also undertook a comprehensive renovation of the Student Union Study Hall, including the upgrade of desks and chairs to improve ergonomics and comfort for study sessions. In addition, the hall has been equipped with a 24/7 Energy Storage System, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply.

The newly transformed space now serves a dual purpose. It functions as a venue for weekly training sessions conducted by solar energy professionals while also remaining open 24/7 as a study hub for students.

itel Solar Energy has also provided free device charging stations within the facility, giving students a reliable and comfortable environment to study, learn, and connect.

Covenant Oladele, president of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union Government (SUG), spoke on behalf of the student body.

itel Energy has provided us with a hub of opportunity. With solar training, scholarship access, and a modernised learning environment powered by intel Solar Energy, our academic and career prospects have just been significantly expanded. This shows what real corporate responsibility looks like.”

Olaotan Fawehinmi, PR manager at itel Solar Energy, reaffirmed the brand’s dedication to youth development and sustainability.

Our mission isn’t just about delivering solar products, and we are building a movement, a future powered by skilled, passionate Nigerians. By opening this training centre and supporting the University of Ibadan, we are shaping the next generation of solar energy professionals and creating direct career pathways in the renewable energy sector.

“Every solution we provide, every opportunity we create, is a step toward a cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive energy future for Nigeria.”

The commissioning event concluded with a tour of the upgraded facility, live solar product demonstrations, and remarks from university officials, students, and the itel Solar Energy team.

Plans are already in motion to replicate this model at other universities across the country as the company works toward establishing a nationwide network of training centres and youth empowerment hubs.
