Samsung Electronics America has launched its first credit card in the United States, partnering with Barclays to give customers a new way to finance purchases and earn cash rewards across the Samsung ecosystem.

Known as the Samsung Galaxy Card, the new credit card runs on Visa’s payment network and is built around Samsung Wallet, allowing users to apply, activate, manage their account and track spending directly from compatible Galaxy devices.

The company said the card, which carries no annual fee, is designed to reward both everyday spending and purchases made through Samsung.

Cardholders will earn 5% cash rewards on eligible purchases made directly from Samsung, 3% on purchases completed with Samsung Wallet, 2% on eligible streaming services including Netflix, Disney+ and Spotify, and 1% on all other purchases. Terms apply.

Samsung also announced a welcome bonus of $200 in cash rewards for qualifying customers who spend $2,000 within the first 90 days of opening their account. The offer becomes available when public applications open on July 22, 2026.

The Galaxy Card will be available as both a virtual card and a premium metal physical card. Customers can also receive a 20% discount on Samsung VIP Advantage membership when they use the card to purchase or renew the service.

Samsung said the card is part of its goal to make Samsung Wallet more useful beyond payments by bringing financing, rewards and account management into one platform. The wallet already supports payment cards, digital IDs, passes, keys and other digital credentials.

Samsung Galaxy Card is part of our ongoing vision for Samsung Wallet to deliver more connected and rewarding everyday experiences,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and head of the Digital Wallet Team at the Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.

Collaborating with like-minded partners, such as Barclays, is what made Samsung Galaxy Card possible. This marks yet another milestone in the evolution of Samsung Wallet and mobile payments, offering a new solution for busy users who want cash rewards whether they’re running errands or purchasing the latest Galaxy devices.”

The launch strengthens Samsung’s drive into financial services and places it in more direct competition with other technology companies expanding digital payment and consumer finance offerings through their mobile ecosystems.

For Barclays, the agreement adds another major brand to its portfolio of co-branded credit card partnerships in the United States. The bank has been expanding its consumer card business, including its acquisition of the General Motors credit card business in 2024.

Denny Nealon, CEO of Barclays US Consumer Bank, said the partnership reflects the bank’s strategy of developing payment products with global consumer brands.

Partnering with Samsung is a strong example of Barclays’ partner-first strategy and the innovation we’re bringing to the market with some of the world’s most recognised brands,” he said.

Together, we’re creating seamless, rewarding digital banking capabilities and products that meet customers where they are – in their Samsung Wallet– and fit naturally into how they live, shop and connect.”

Visa noted that the collaboration reflects growing demand for payment services that are integrated into digital platforms consumers already use.

Consumers expect payments to be embedded into the digital experiences they use every day,” said Kirk Stuart, SVP, head of North America Enablers, Merchants and Fintechs at Visa.

By bringing together Samsung’s innovation, Barclays’ co-brand capabilities, and Visa’s trusted network, Samsung Galaxy Card delivers a connected experience that helps consumers earn rewards while providing the security and acceptance needed to support commerce wherever they choose to shop.”

Samsung said eligible customers can begin applying immediately through its early access programme, while general applications will open on July 22, 2026, through Samsung’s website and participating retail stores in the United States.
