This refreshed branding is a bold testament to its core mission: to refurbish, redeploy, and recycle IT assets in a way that not only extends their lifecycle but also significantly reduces environmental impact.

Every element of the company’s new identity has been carefully designed to symbolise a crucial aspect of the company’s environmental stewardship.

Blue, representing Life Below Water (SDG 14), reflects Xperien’s dedication to protecting marine ecosystems by preventing e-waste pollution from reaching the oceans.

Green, symbolising Life on Land (SDG 15), highlights the company’s initiatives to support biodiversity conservation and enhance sustainable IT practices that safeguard terrestrial habitats. Brown, inspired by Earth’s Mineral Resources (SDG 12), embodies the company’s commitment to responsible consumption through refurbishment, redeployment, and recycling – reducing the need for new raw material extraction and promoting a circular economy.

“We are excited to introduce our new corporate identity,” said Wale Arewa, Xperien CEO. “Our refreshed look is more than just a change in aesthetics – it is a visual pledge to drive sustainable practices and a circular IT lifecycle. Every IT asset we refurbish, redeploy, or recycle contributes directly to a healthier planet.”

Through our innovative approach – “Refurbish. Redeploy. Recycle.” – Xperien ensures that every phase of the IT asset lifecycle is optimised for sustainability. This three-pillar strategy not only minimises waste and pollution but also supports biodiversity conservation and responsible resource management in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Xperien Predicts Equipment Buyback Rate Changes in 2025 https://techeconomy.ng/xperien-predicts-equipment-buyback-rate-changes-in-2025/ https://techeconomy.ng/xperien-predicts-equipment-buyback-rate-changes-in-2025/#respond Sun, 10 Nov 2024 18:45:02 +0000 https://techeconomy.ng/?p=147288 Xperien, a leader in IT asset disposition (ITAD) and secure data destruction, has urged businesses to start preparing for important rate changes in 2025.

These changes stem from the introduction of Windows 11, the rise of AI-enabled devices, and increasing environmental concerns about outdated equipment.

Wale Arewa, Xperien CEO, says laptops from the 6th generation or older will no longer offer a return on investment or buyback value in 2025.

“Laptops older than six years, especially those from Intel’s 6th generation and earlier, will become less viable, driving the need for proactive asset disposal.”

This is due to four key factors:

  • Energy inefficiency: Older laptops consume more power, increasing operational costs and their environmental impact.
  • Performance limitations: Devices more than six years old struggle to support modern operating systems and applications, leading to slower performance and reduced productivity.
  • Cost of refurbishment: Refurbishing outdated laptops often costs more than their resale value, making upgrades economically unfeasible.
  • Diminishing market demand: There is decreasing demand for older technology in the resale market, further reducing their value.

To address these challenges, Xperien will adjust its rates to reflect the increased complexity of managing outdated IT equipment. Businesses are encouraged to assess their current infrastructure and begin transitioning to newer devices that meet the requirements of Windows 11, which will be the only supported version after October 2025.

In addition, Xperien will offer clients the option of using its auction platform as an alternative to traditional ITAD methods. This platform allows clients to sell their equipment directly but will incur costs that must be managed on a per-project basis.

Despite these upcoming challenges, Xperien will continue to provide data elimination, ewaste disposal and impact reporting services.

“As the demand for AI-powered devices grows, businesses need to stay ahead of the curve to maintain security and operational efficiency. We remain committed to providing sustainable, secure, and cost-effective solutions for IT asset management, ensuring minimal environmental impact,” he concluded.

New ERP System Provides Secure Data Handling https://techeconomy.ng/new-erp-system-provides-secure-data-handling/ https://techeconomy.ng/new-erp-system-provides-secure-data-handling/#respond Mon, 28 Oct 2024 13:17:41 +0000 https://techeconomy.ng/?p=146459 With cyber threats becoming more sophisticated, safeguarding confidential data has become an essential aspect of ITAD operations.

Xperien, a leading player in the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry, understands the significance of protecting sensitive client information and has taken proactive steps to enhance security measures by implementing Makor ERP.

Data security is crucial for any ITAD company, and Makor ERP enhances security protocols by prioritising access controls using 2FA log in and secure data handling practices.

Wale Arewa, Xperien CEO points to the significance of data security in the ITAD Industry.

“The ITAD industry deals with the proper disposal and management of end-of-life IT assets. During the process, companies handle vast amounts of sensitive data, including intellectual property, financial information, and personal data.”

“The loss or exposure of such data can lead to severe consequences, including financial loss, reputational damage, and legal repercussions. Therefore, data security is not just a compliance requirement; it is a critical responsibility towards clients and partners,” he explains.

One of the fundamental elements of Makor ERP’s security architecture is 2FA access controls. All data stored in the system, whether it’s client information, asset details, or financial records, is encrypted in on our AWS server. Encryption ensures that even if unauthorised entities gain access to the data, it remains indecipherable and useless without the decryption keys whilst giving clients easy access to their data through a client portal.

This robust security measure guarantees the confidentiality of sensitive information and provides peace of mind to Xperien’s clients.

Makor ERP adopts a stringent access control mechanism to restrict unauthorised access to sensitive data. Through role-based access control (RBAC), the system assigns access rights and privileges based on the job roles of individuals within the organisation.

“This means that employees can only access the information necessary for their specific tasks, reducing the risk of accidental or intentional data breaches. Moreover, Makor ERP also monitors and logs user activities, enabling quick detection of any suspicious behaviour or unauthorised access attempts, ensuring the integrity of the ITAD data” he adds.

Xperien places a strong emphasis on secure data handling practices throughout its ITAD processes. From the moment client data is received, through asset tracking, processing, and eventual disposal, every step is carefully managed to minimise vulnerabilities.

Makor ERP tracks the entire lifecycle of each asset, ensuring complete traceability and accountability. Additionally, Xperien adheres to industry best practices in data sanitisation and destruction to ensure that data is irreversibly removed from retired assets before disposal.

To stay ahead of emerging threats and vulnerabilities, Xperien regularly conducts proactive security audits of the Makor ERP system.

These audits involve rigorous testing and analysis of the system’s security infrastructure to identify potential weaknesses. Any discovered vulnerabilities are promptly addressed and updated to maintain a secure and resilient platform.

Arewa stresses that in the ITAD industry, data security is a paramount concern.

“We recognise the trust that clients place in our hands. Through the robust security measures implemented within the Makor ERP system, we are committed to safeguarding confidential data and mitigating potential risks.”

By prioritising data security, Xperien demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity in the ITAD industry.

Clients can rest assured that their sensitive information is in safe hands with Xperien and its Makor ERP system.

“Data encryption, 2FA access controls, and secure data handling practices are just a few examples of our proactive approach to enhancing security measures. As the threat landscape continues to evolve, Xperien remains dedicated to staying at the forefront of data security practices by continuously updating its security protocols,” he concludes.
