The 17 United Nations – Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) are a global and urgent call to action to all countries and people on the globe.
Digital tools, creative entrepreneurship and global cooperation are among the most promising drivers to reach the UN SDGs.
To this end, Programos Foundation, promoters of InnovationBed.Africa, a Not-for-Profit, Non-Governmental organization and the CSR for Programos Software Group, is celebrating the United Nations World Summit Awards WSA (Nigeria) and ICT4SIDS initiative country innovators who have excelled globally by #consistently winning the prestigious UN WORLD SUMMIT AWARDS within the last decade (2010 – 2020).
According to Mr. Emmanuel Amos, President of Programos Foundation, these innovators are now – putting Nigeria’s name indelibly on the Global Innovation Map with an #Innovationbed digital ecosystem championing alliance cause for Africa development.
The event is scheduled to hold today Monday 21st March 2022, 11am WAT “and we invite you to join us virtually to experience more of Nigeria’s leadership rejuvenation through the prism of mass innovation Capacity development for our youths.
“And perhaps in 2 to 3 minutes you can give your goodwill message as undergraduates of diverse disciplines from tertiary institutions across the country are already registering into event and unlocking the benefits of the internet to join in and connect with creative and purpose-driven entrepreneurs, get to know inspiring solutions for the UN SDGs, and connect with a global community to collaborate, share and learn from real-life career experiences and entrepreneurship journeys of these homegrown founders of modern locally global digital ventures springing up in the Nigerian economy.
“Following our 10-year Fix-A-Gap initiative research in collaboration with the ICT4SIDS with tech-scouting campaign processes on the World Summit Awards processes across Nigeria and strong alliances with OCCAM – the Observatory of the Digital Communications at the UN, and with the African communities/experts, #Innovationbed survey is geared to re-skill youths using global resource faculty of the #InnovationbedFoundersCouncil and engage them right from their community bases virtually, leveraging on the improving internet infrastructure and e-learning technologies, in positive community-impacting digital service schemes complementary to regional government programmes for job-creation, job protection – as in protection from displacement or disruptions arising from growing technological advancements that threaten our pioneer talent workforce creative arts and film (Nollywood entertainment), education sectors, to mention a few, so we can grow our regional economic transformation back and aright!
Innovation is the practical implementation of ideas that result in the introduction of new goods or services or improvement in offering the same.
“Our tech-scouting strategy in the brand new decade ending 2030 will be more on the field as an incubation for a new youth career paradigm, but as every content is relevant in nation building, harvesting more from domain knowledge of own discipline: reskilling, upskilling, and exposing them to the opportunities of solving their regional gaps for competitive and prosperity.
“The progress of #Incubation2030 foundation being laid in a few states in Nigeria based on openness and ease of access by Edo, Kano, Nasarawa and Zamfara states’ government visioners are assuming advanced stages. Others can kick start their cohorts any time”, he said.
Amos said the occasion will attract no paper presentations or long speeches!
