Spotify Introduces Songwriter Promo Cards to Make Music Creators More Visible

Source: Spotify

In a bid to celebrate and promote the talented songwriters, Spotify has made the latest addition to its suite of songwriting promotional tools – the Songwriter Promo Cards.

These customizable graphics are set to positively impact the way songwriters share their work, connect with potential collaborators, and engage with fans across social media platforms. With a simple three-step process, songwriters can create unique Songwriter Promo Cards that highlight their accomplishments:

1. Select: Songwriters can choose whether to promote their songwriter profile or their Written By playlist on Spotify. The generated share card provides a direct link to their Songwriter Page or Written By playlist, making it easy for fans and collaborators to explore their work.

2. Customize: The Songwriter Promo Cards allow for creative customization, allowing songwriters to select the aspect ratio and background color from a range of options that complement their style.

3. Share: Sharing is made effortless with direct share options on the site, enabling songwriters to post their creations on social media platforms. Alternatively, they can download the share card and share it anywhere they prefer, complete with the generated link to their content.

Spotify’s goal of empowering songwriters and creators dates back to the introduction of Songwriter Pages in 2020. These pages have allowed users to delve deeper into the world of songwriting and discover the talented individuals responsible for crafting their favorite tunes. The display of song credits on Spotify since 2018 has also contributed to increased visibility for artists, songwriters, and producers.

One noteworthy feature of Songwriter Pages is the clickable credits. Industry professionals, including labels, publishers, music supervisors, and artists, regularly explore Spotify song credits. When a songwriter is credited on a track, listeners can click on their name to access a page showcasing their body of work.

The Songwriter Page not only lists the songwriter’s compositions but also highlights their most frequent artist collaborators. This page can be easily shared on social media or personal websites, enabling music enthusiasts to explore a songwriter’s catalog, whether they use Spotify or not.

To enhance the music discovery experience, each Songwriter Page features a “Written By” playlist that compiles the songwriter’s works. Spotify listeners can discover these playlists through search and follow them, allowing for a more immersive musical journey.

Spotify has partnered with industry-leading songwriters like Meghan Trainor, Fraser T Smith, Missy Elliott, Teddy Geiger, Ben Billions, Justin Tranter, and many others to support songwriters and their collaborators. These collaborations aim to shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of songwriters in the music industry.

With Songwriter Promo Cards, Spotify continues to empower and celebrate the unsung heroes of music, ensuring that the creators behind the tunes get the recognition and appreciation they deserve.
