Apple iPhone 17e

Apple recently launched the iPhone 17e, the newest addition to its iPhone 17 series, coming with a combination of high-end specs at a more affordable price.

The device launched just before Apple’s March 4, 2026 event, and is designed to attract users seeking flagship-level performance without paying full price.

Specifications That Stand Out

The iPhone 17e brings several upgrades compared with previous entry-level iPhones, making it a great option for budget-conscious buyers and users upgrading from older models:

  • 256GB Base Storage: Twice the entry-level storage of previous iPhones, providing ample space for apps, media, and files.
  • A19 Chip: The same processor used in the standard iPhone 17 models, featuring a six-core CPU, four-core GPU, and 16-core neural engine optimised for AI tasks.
  • 48MP Rear Camera: Single-lens Fusion camera with 2x telephoto support, delivering photography performance comparable to higher-tier models.
  • Advanced Connectivity: Equipped with Apple’s C1X modem, offering faster cellular speeds and improved power efficiency.
  • Affordable Pricing: Starting at $599 for the 256GB variant, the iPhone 17e offers flagship features at a lower cost.

Additional Features

Other interesting features include:

  • iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence enhancements
  • MagSafe 15W wireless charging
  • 4K video recording
  • 512GB storage option
  • Ceramic Shield 2 for improved durability
  • IP68 water and dust resistance
  • 1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display

Price and Availability

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 17e on March 4, 2026, with general availability starting March 11, 2026.

In Nigeria, the 256GB model retails between ₦900,000 and ₦950,000, while the 512GB variant is priced around ₦1,200,000 and ₦1,260,000.

The iPhone 17e was built based on Apple’s strategy of balancing performance with affordability, to reach emerging markets and users looking for premium features at a lower price.

With its mix of storage, processing power, and camera quality, the 17e is as strong in the mid-range premium smartphone market.
