Sales professionals and business leaders gathered in Lagos for the inaugural Quota and Code conference, convened by Akanni Isaac, where discussions focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping sales execution, customer acquisition and revenue growth.

The event brought together participants from sectors including technology, financial services and enterprise sales to examine how high-performing teams are integrating AI tools into their workflows to improve efficiency and outcomes.

A central theme of the conference was the practical application of AI in sales, including automating prospecting and lead qualification, as well as enhancing personalization and decision-making.

Akanni shared real-world use cases demonstrating how AI is being deployed to analyze customer data, optimize pipelines and support more targeted engagement with prospects.

“Sales is no longer just about effort; it’s increasingly about leverage,” Akanni said. “The professionals who are outperforming today are those who understand how to use AI to amplify their decision-making, automate repetitive tasks and focus their time on high-value interactions.”

Participants described the sessions as practical and accessible, particularly in contrast to more technical training formats.

“My eyes have been opened to the countless possibilities of AI,” one attendee said. “Most IT-centered trainings leave you feeling overwhelmed, but certainly not this one.”

Another participant noted that the insights gained were immediately applicable within their organization, adding,

“I have already prompted my branch manager to have the branch train on the tools you taught yesterday.”

Sessions also addressed the importance of balancing automation with human interaction in sales, as well as the risks associated with delayed adoption of AI tools in an increasingly data-driven marketplace.

Industry observers say the growing emphasis on AI-enabled sales reflects broader shifts across Nigeria’s business environment, where organizations are prioritizing efficiency, scalability and measurable performance outcomes.

Akanni said the conference is expected to evolve into a recurring platform for knowledge exchange, with future editions set to further explore the intersection of sales, technology and performance optimization.
