Buhari Appoints Four Non-Executive Directors for CBN

Four persons, Tuesday were nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for the position of Non-Executive Directors of the Board of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Ahmad Lawan, Senate President, made this known at the plenary while reading President’s request which was contained in a letter dated July 21, 2022.

Buhari noted that the request was brought pursuant to section 10(3)(a) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007.

The nominees are:

Prof. Justitia Nnabuko (South-East),
Prof. Ummu Jalingo (North-East).
Mr Adeola Adetunji (South-West).
Prof. Mike Obadan (South-South).

President would expect the new appointees to regard their appointments as a call to National Service and to carry out their responsibilities with uprightness, diligence and prompt response to the yearnings of the public
