The President of the France Nigeria Business Council, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, has launched ‘Access Bank’s French Desk’ to provide support and guidance to French businesses operating in Nigeria and businesses seeking to expand their presence in France.
The desk was launched at the head office of Access Bank in Lagos and was attended by the Minister of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships, Mrs. Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, as well as chief executive officers of French businesses.
Dr. Herbert Wigwe, who is also the group chief executive officer of Access Holdings Plc, stated that the French Desk would serve as a vital link between Business France, PROPACO, AFD, and other multilateral organizations.
It aims to provide tailored support and guidance to French businesses operating in Nigeria and Nigerian businesses looking to expand in France.
The establishment of the French Desk was initiated by an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron to Access Bank to establish a presence in Paris.
Dr. Wigwe highlighted the growing economic ties between Nigeria and France and the recognition of Access Bank’s role in facilitating trade and investment at the global level. Access Bank has recently established its office in Paris.
The creation of the French Desk by Access Bank is seen as a significant step towards strengthening business ties between Nigeria and France.
Dr. Wigwe addressed the guests at the launch event, expressing gratitude for their commitment and optimism in the potential of Nigeria as a thriving market.
He emphasized the immense potential of the Franco-Nigerian business relationship, combining Nigeria’s vast resources and France’s technological expertise, innovation, and cultural heritage.
