Airtel to Sponsor Maiden Edition of Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum

Airtel Nigeria has emerged the sponsor of the maiden edition of the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum themed “Leading Sustainability in Africa: Empowering Nigeria’s Green Future.”

Airtel’s support underscores its dedication to championing sustainability and advancing conversations on ethical business practices.

The event is scheduled to take place at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 5, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Organized by Africa Interviews, a premier online media platform known for its positive narratives about Africa and Africans through exclusive interviews, features, and commentaries, the forum promises to be a landmark event with diverse range of thought leaders, industry experts, and key stakeholders dedicated to driving conversations around sustainability in Africa, vis-à-vis energy transition among other issues.

Some of the speakers expected at the event include Deoye Ojuroye, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, Providus Bank; Oladapo Filani, CEO, Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited; Ejiro Gray, Director, Governance & Sustainability, Sahara Group; Lamé Verre, Co-Founder and Co-Chair, Lean In Equity and Sustainability; and other sustainability thought leaders.

Commenting on the announcement, Femi Adeniran, Director of Corporate Communications and CSR at Airtel Nigeria, described Airtel’s support as a significant contribution to fostering sustainable practices and ethical business operations.

 “Airtel Nigeria is excited to collaborate with Africa Interviews for the inaugural Sustainability Forum. This collaboration is a testament to Airtel Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and our belief in the power of collective efforts to drive meaningful change. By supporting meaningful initiatives towards Nigeria’s future, we aim to inspire a new era of sustainable development and responsible business practices that will benefit generations to come,” he said.

According to Sam Umukoro, Founder and Editorial Director of Africa Interviews, the forum will serve as an inspiring and informative event that promises to shape the future of sustainability in Nigeria and beyond through unique opportunity to engage with leaders who are at the forefront of sustainability and energy transition in Africa.

Attendees will gain valuable insights into innovative strategies, community engagement, and the balance between achieving NetZero and addressing the region’s energy needs.

Airtel Nigeria stated that its sponsorship of the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum is part of its broader strategy to champion sustainability initiatives and support platforms that inspire positive change.

Recall that Airtel Africa that was recently recognized by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) at the inaugural edition of the ICAN-NGX Corporate Governance Awards, recognizing the telecom giant’s fundamental principles of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct across all facets of its operations.
