The Anambra State Government has approved an investment aimed at enhancing governance through technology with the establishment of a state-owned Solution Data Platform.
The project, which has been allocated a budget of ₦97,087,625, was greenlit during the 34th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting.
Octave Analytics and Insights Ltd has been awarded the contract to develop the platform, though the completion timeline has not yet been confirmed.
This new initiative aims to leverage the power of technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness in public administration.
The Solution Data Platform will focus on streamlining data management processes across various sectors, with an emphasis on areas such as security, infrastructure, and public service delivery.
The platform will facilitate real-time data integration, providing decision-makers with timely access to critical information needed to address pressing challenges.
The Anambra State Government has made it clear that this project is just one of several measures aimed at leveraging technology to support economic development and security.
The platform is expected to bolster the state’s ability to implement policies and programs more effectively, creating a foundation for future technological advancements in governance.
The development of this platform also ties into other key government initiatives, including increased investments in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, as well as a renewed focus on security.
The approval of the data platform comes at a time when Anambra is placing a greater emphasis on data-driven solutions as a means to promote growth and attract investment.
In terms of security, the state government has been taking decisive steps to address criminal activity. Recently, the Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, successfully dismantled a notorious criminal hideout in the Lilu, Mbosi area of Ihiala Local Government.
The operation, based on intelligence gathered over time, also led to the recovery of several unexploded improvised explosive devices (IEDs) near Umunze Police Station in Orumba South Local Government.
These achievements reiterate the state’s determination to ensure the safety of its residents while continuing to pursue its development agenda.
The Solution Data Platform is expected to be a key asset in these efforts, facilitating a more responsive and informed governance structure, as Anambra aims to build a smarter, more connected future for its citizens.
