Avanti Communications Invests Over $800m in Africa, Pioneering Connectivity

Avanti Communications, a global leader in satellite communications, said it has over $800 million in Africa, solidifying its commitment to driving connectivity and growth across the continent.

This significant investment comes as Avanti continues to expand its footprint in Africa through local partnerships and the rollout of innovative connectivity solutions..

With a strong focus on Africa, Avanti Communications has positioned itself as a key player, establishing a significant presence in key African countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Angola, and Benin, where more than a fifth of its workforce is based.

In recognition of Avanti’s unwavering commitment, the company has been named the market-leading high-throughput satellite capacity partner in sub-Saharan Africa for the second consecutive year.

The latest NSR (NSR Satellite Capacity Supply & Demand Analysis) report highlights that Avanti’s market share in the region surpasses its closest competitor by more than two times.

A pivotal moment came in 2019 when Avanti Communications secured approval from The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for a landing permit for the HYLAS-4 satellite space segment over Nigerian territory. This milestone solidified Avanti’s position as a prominent player in the African satellite communications market, unlocking opportunities for expanded connectivity solutions throughout the country.
