Last week, Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State, became the latest tertiary institution to engage in the Borderless Campus Tour.
Led by Precious Nwaigbo, a resource person for the Borderless event, the tour saw significant engagement from the student community and added to the growing awareness of the value of technology for students.
Every year, CryptoSmart allocates 25% of its resources to the Borderless Dev Hub to raise university student developers for free. As part of preparations for the Borderless 2.0 event, the team has onboarded over 100 applicants to start training and held a B<>rder/ess Campus Tour in over nine institutions so far in the South-South and South-East.
Nwaigbo, on a call with Techeconomy, stated that the tour’s focus was to “preach the Borderless message to our fellow students,” emphasizing the importance of coming on board. He also mentioned that the tour targeted the computer science department of the school.
The Borderless team has a long-term goal of establishing tech hubs in every university in Nigeria to ensure that students develop tech skills even while in school. Amazingly, the computer science department of Niger Delta University has produced developers like Gloria Ojukwu, the founder of Hertechtrail.
Borderless Dev Hub developers’ cipher program intends to create tech developers in the blockchain and general IT space. The program utilizes top-notch technology and equipment to ensure that nothing is left out in the learning process and to give students a stable and swift learning process.
Concluding, Nwaigbo noted that people must be well informed on the importance of tech, and the Borderless event will go a long way in ensuring they have a tech career.
