Nigerians have Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to celebrate the Eid -El-Fitr as the Federal Government has approved Thursday 11th April, 2024 as an additional public holiday.
This decision extends the holiday period to three days, starting from Tuesday, May 11th, to Thursday, May 13th, allowing citizens to celebrate the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal in accordance with Islamic tradition.
Dr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, the minister of Interior, while congratulating the muslim Ummah for a successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation, reiterates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (GCFR) firm commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive.
Signed:
Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior.
Is Nigeria really a country or a joke? Why is it that the only thing the government excels at is granting holidays? If people are struggling to survive, how does mandating that they not work solve their problems? Is it that the government thinks that it, not the human beings of Nigeria, is to be served? Or is it that the government does not understand that its holiday declarations are taken as mandates? Why does the government continue to think that it is to be served as opposed to it serving people? Is it that the people running the government are incapable of thinking or that they assume that the people are imbeciles? Or could it be that these people are so fanatical in their religious beliefs that they look past human beings that they were “elected” to serve in the service of the almighty? My last question is “is there hope for Africa”?
