Brit Transport, a multifaceted transportation firm, has launched in Lagos with the aim of redefining travel for passengers through its flexible schedules, seamless convenience and unparalleled personalization amongst other service features.

Brit Transport offers car hiring, bus leasing, and interstate transportation.

“Brit Transport was inspired by the need for flexibility, innovation and affordability in Nigeria’s transportation sector,” said Dr. Bright Chimezie, group managing director. “We are starting with road transportation but we aim to eventually venture into other means of transportation including rail, water and air.”

Brit Transport is a business offshoot of Brit Properties, a foremost land and investment company in Lagos founded by Dr. Chimezie, who believes there are insights gained from years of experience in the real estate sector that can also boost his success in the new business.

“The excellence we have exhibited in real estate business is what we will also be exhibiting in transportation business. We have been serving the real estate sector as well, especially in the area of transporting realtors to remote sites outside Lagos. We are looking at modernizing transportation with unparalleled quality. From one terminal we hope to open several others in Lagos and all over Nigeria.”

In Nigeria, road transportation is the most popular and affordable means of movement. However, the road transport business sector is currently facing a series of challenges including random prices by service providers, poor health and safety standards, lack of operational standards, and poor communication.

According to Mr. Chinedu Chukwu, the group head of Brit Transport, the firm aims to solve these challenges through a combination of innovation, excellent service delivery and investment in digital technology.

“Our intention is to give maximum value to our customers. We offer maximum safety, comfort and efficiency without compromising affordability. Our buses have WIFIs and Televisions to keep them comfortable over long distances,” said Mr. Chukwu.

The Brit Transport boss revealed that the company is launching it interstate transport services with routes to the South-East, South-South and North Central regions.

“Brit Transport undoubtedly, is coming into the market with sensitivity to the plight of the people, considering the current situation of the economy,” said Mr. Emmanuel Aiyepada, head of Corporate Communications.

“We believe every business needs to operate with the people in mind and we understand that transportation is a basic need. This is a defining attribute of our brand,” he added.
