Like many major brands at MWC 2026, TECNO introduced its latest flagship phone, the TECNO Camon 50 Ultra 5G.
Most flagships are normally announced during the first days of the event to maximise industry attention, and TECNO followed that pattern this year.
TECNO positioned this phone as a near-premium camera-centric device capable of flagship-grade performance, paired with a big battery and sleek design.
Unlike the standard Camon series models, the Ultra variants are designed to offer the best in display quality, durability, connectivity, and aesthetics. The specifications of this device make it one of TECNO’s most ambitious launches yet.

With the Camon 50 Ultra 5G, TECNO signals a clear shift towards flagship-level smartphone experiences while still retaining its ensuring consumers get value for their money.
The phone can suit a wide range of users, whether it’s a student who enjoys mobile photography or a content creator who needs a powerful device without spending excessively.
Early listing prices in Nigeria suggest the device could sell for over N500,000 for the base configuration (8GB RAM with 256GB storage). At that price point, it sits in the upper mid-range segment.
For many Nigerians, the phone may not be affordable, but it is still considerably cheaper compared with high-end phones from Apple and Samsung.
According to TECNO, the Camon 50 Ultra will support up to five years of upgrades and three Android updates. However, based on records, TECNO has not offered extensive software upgrades, though this model may be a step forward.
The company also claims the phone will be “as fast in Year 6 as in Day 1”.
