Chimaobi Stanley Anyanwu | Owllup | Nigerian Tech and Innovation Awards (NTIA)

Chimaobi Stanley Anyanwu, founder of Owllup and the Nigerian Tech and Innovation Awards (NTIA)

Chimaobi Stanley Anyanwu, founder of Owllup and the Nigerian Tech and Innovation Awards (NTIA), is contributing significantly to Nigeria’s digital technology landscape through innovation, mentorship, and inclusive community‑building initiatives.

Since launching in 2023, Owllup has grown into a dynamic platform supporting over 5,000 users, including students, early‑career professionals, and aspiring innovators across Nigeria.

The platform enables mentorship, skill‑building challenges, event hosting, and peer‑to‑peer collaboration.

In January 2026, Owllup expanded its capabilities with fintech features, including a digital wallet and e‑commerce marketplace, giving users safe and accessible tools to participate in Nigeria’s digital economy.

Its low‑data design ensures that young people in underserved communities can access opportunities without connectivity barriers.

In addition to Owllup, Chimaobi established the Nigerian Tech and Innovation Awards (NTIA) in 2023 to spotlight emerging digital talent, with a strong focus on women and underrepresented groups.

NTIA combines award recognition with masterclasses and structured development programs, offering visibility and practical experience across multiple technology disciplines.

Mentorship remains central to Chimaobi’s mission. Through Owllup, he has supported early‑career professionals by facilitating dozens of mentorship interactions, helping users navigate career decisions, build foundational skills, and access opportunities within Nigeria’s growing tech ecosystem.

He has also contributed directly at national events, including the 2025 TDI Tech Summit & Hackathon, where Owllup sponsored a ₦2.25 million prize pool, including a ₦1 million personal contribution.

The event attracted hundreds of young innovators, many of whom continued receiving guidance through Owllup’s community channels.

Reflecting on his vision, Chimaobi noted:

“Our goal is not only to build platforms. We want to cultivate a sustainable ecosystem where innovators can learn, collaborate, and make meaningful impact. Mentorship, structured programs, and accessible digital tools are the foundation for nurturing Nigeria’s next generation of technology leaders.”

Through Owllup and NTIA, Chimaobi demonstrates how founders can drive community‑led innovation, empower emerging talent, and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.

His work highlights the importance of inclusive, accessible, and future‑focused initiatives in building a resilient technology ecosystem.
