Concert for Change, a Nigerian non-profit focused on vulnerable children, has announced a record-breaking disbursement of N55 million to five charitable organizations across the country.

The funds, raised through the Green Worship 8 Benefit Concert, represent a significant 49.66% increase from the N36.75 million distributed in the previous year.

This nearly 50% year-on-year growth underscores a surge in donor confidence and the expanding footprint of the initiative, formerly known as Worship for Change.

Strategic Distribution: N11 Million per Charity

In a move to ensure balanced regional impact, the organization selected five beneficiaries spanning the South-South, North-Central, South-West, and Lagos regions.

Each charity is set to receive an equal share of N11 million to fund critical infrastructure, specialized medical equipment, and educational resources.

  • Comrade David Ofoeyeno School for Special Children (Warri, Delta State)
  • Marvelous Foundation Orphans Care Centre (Minna, Niger State)
  • Super Parent Foundation (Lagos State)
  • Hope Orphanage (Akure, Ondo State)
  • Learning Disabilities Society of Nigeria (Uyo, Akwa Ibom State)

“Compassion is Still Alive” – Managing Trustee

Reflecting on the N18.25 million increase in total funding, Wale Adenuga, managing Trustee of Concert for Change, noted that the milestone is a testament to the resilience of the Nigerian spirit despite economic headwinds.

“Every year, we are reminded that compassion is still alive. This increase is not just a financial milestone, it is proof that individuals are willing to give sacrificially to support children who might otherwise be forgotten. Our commitment remains clear: transparency, measurable impact, and meaningful partnership with credible charities,” Adenuga stated.

He further emphasized that the organization employs a milestone-based disbursement process, ensuring that every naira is tied to tangible interventions such as therapy services and specialized equipment for children living with disabilities.

The Wider Impact: N200 Million and Counting

Since its inception, Concert for Change has evolved into a formidable vehicle for social impact, mobilizing over N200 million in cumulative funding.

To date, the initiative has:

  • Supported 49 frontline charities across Nigeria.
  • Positively impacted thousands of vulnerable children and orphans.
  • Strengthened accountability structures to provide donors with “proof of impact.

The organization’s strategy relies on the Green Worship concert series to bridge the gap between high-net-worth donors, corporate partners, and grassroots charities that often lack the visibility to attract large-scale funding.

“Our goal,” the organization noted in its official release, “is to ease the burden of charitable organisations and create lasting impact, one child at a time.”

As the non-profit scales its operations, it continues to position itself as a gold standard for transparency in Nigeria’s third sector, proving that benefit concerts can serve as sustainable engines for long-term social change.
