Tola Odeyemi has assumed office as the substantive Post Master General of the Federation (PMG) and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).
Ms Odeyemi was appointed as NIPOST boss last week.
But confusion ensued on Saturday when Adeyemi Sunday Adepoju, the immediate past PMG/CEO of NIPOST, claimed that he has been reinstated as the PMG/CEO of NIPOST.
On getting to office on Monday to assume office, Odeyemi found herself in crisis of acceptance perpetuated by the workers.
According to sources, President Bola Tinubu had to intervene to stop workers of the Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) from shutting out the new Chief Executive Officer, Tola Odeyemi.
By implication the erstwhile CEO, Adepoju Adeyemi has been relieved of his duties at the Service.
President Bola Tinubu had last week sacked Adeyemi Adepoju as CEO/Post Master General of the agency and appointed Odeyemi.
The announcement made by Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson, was part of the leadership shuffle implemented for agencies and parastatals under the Ministry of Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy.
