FastClaim Solutions Limited is intensifying efforts to transform motor insurance across West Africa, as stakeholders move to digitise and streamline cross-border claims settlement under the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme.

Mr. Uche Okugo, the founder/CEO, FastClaim Solutions Limited, spoke during Nigeria’s hosting of the inaugural zonal meeting of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme for 2026, held recently in Lagos.

The event, themed “The Digital Divide: Managing Change in the Brown Card Operational Strategy for Effective Cross-Border Claims Settlement,” convened stakeholders from across West Africa to drive digital integration, accelerate claims processing, and harmonise motor insurance systems across the region.

The ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme provides third-party compensation for victims of road accidents involving foreign motorists within member states, serving as a key framework for cross-border mobility and protection.

Addressing participants, Okugo underscored the importance of technology adoption in tackling delays and inefficiencies in claims processing, noting that wider deployment of FastClaim’s solution could significantly strengthen the effectiveness of the Brown Card scheme.

He explained that the company’s flagship FastClaim App, an AI-powered platform, automates and simplifies the motor claims process, enabling insurers to achieve faster, more transparent, and more reliable outcomes.

According to him, the platform leverages artificial intelligence, real-time remote vehicle inspections, and automated damage detection to generate instant repair estimates, eliminating the need for physical inspections and manual reporting.

Okugo said,

“The adoption of solutions like FastClaim can help the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme deliver faster cross-border claims settlement and improve transparency across member states.

“The system is designed to assess damage severity, validate claims against policy details, detect potential fraud, and generate accurate repair estimates within minutes. It also includes automated discharge voucher capabilities, further streamlining settlement processes.”

FastClaim has already recorded strong adoption among insurers operating under the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), reflecting growing confidence in its ability to modernise claims management.

Beyond Nigeria, the company is expanding its footprint across Africa.

Earlier in the year, FastClaim launched operations in Zambia, marking a significant step in its regional growth strategy and reinforcing its ambition to drive digital insurance transformation across multiple markets.

Okugo expressed the company’s readiness to support the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme with AI-powered remote vehicle loss assessment reports.

Stakeholders at the event emphasised that bridging the digital divide remains critical to achieving a unified and efficient regional insurance ecosystem, with technology-driven platforms like FastClaim seen as key enablers.
