First City Monument Bank, FCMB, has launched a new travel financing solution that enables eligible customers to borrow up to ₦10 million to pay for international flight tickets and repay the loan over a period of three to nine months.

The initiative, branded “Book Now, Fly Later,” is being delivered in partnership with 247 Travels and is designed to make international travel more affordable by allowing customers to spread the cost of airfare instead of making a one-time payment.

The facility, offered through FCMB Premium Banking, is available exclusively for international airline tickets purchased via 247 Travels.

Eligible salaried and self-employed FCMB customers can apply for financing, with successful applicants expected to receive approval and loan disbursement within 24 working hours.

According to the bank, the financing solution targets customers travelling for business, education, medical treatment, tourism and family commitments, reflecting growing demand for flexible payment options in the travel industry.

Yemisi Edun, managing director of FCMB, said the product aligns with the bank’s commitment to helping customers achieve their goals without placing undue pressure on their finances.

She noted that the offering is part of FCMB’s broader strategy to develop innovative financial solutions through strategic partnerships that improve customer experience and expand access to essential services.

Tunji Adeyemi, Managing Director of 247 Travels, said the partnership addresses one of the biggest barriers to international travel, the high upfront cost of airline tickets.

“Travellers increasingly value flexibility and convenience,” he said, adding that the financing programme allows customers to secure flights immediately while spreading repayments over several months.

Also commenting, Opeyemi Makinwa, FCMB’s Group Head of Premium Banking, said the initiative reflects the bank’s focus on embedding financial services into customers’ everyday lifestyles.

Customers can access the financing by selecting their preferred international flight through the FCMB Book Now, Fly Later platform or the 247 Travels website, submitting a financing request and, upon approval, receiving loan disbursement before the ticket is issued.

The launch comes as Nigerian financial institutions increasingly explore embedded finance and lifestyle banking products to deepen customer engagement beyond traditional banking services, while addressing rising demand for flexible consumer credit.
