The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has launched the Renewed Hope Housing Delivery Portal.
Designed to enhance homeownership in Nigeria, the Renewed Hope Housing Delivery Portal aims to simplify the application process for the government’s housing program.
Endorsed by President Bola Tinubu, the program seeks to bridge the nation’s housing gap and make owning a home a more attainable dream for many Nigerians. Launched via the website, the user-friendly portal is a one-stop shop for potential homeowners.
As noted by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ahmed Dangiwa during the launch, the platform being inaugurated is a key part of the partnership.
The ministry collaborated with a consortium of developers led by Continental Civil to deliver a staggering 100,000 housing units across the country.
Transparency and accessibility were highlighted by Minister Dangiwa as core features of the portal. “With the platform, you do not need to know anybody to own a home. It is transparent, and the criteria are open to all,” he emphasized.
The portal simplifies the home-buying process for Nigerians with a range of features. First, a user-friendly interface ensures a smooth experience from start to finish, with an easy navigation process and a simple registration.
This is further enhanced by advanced search filters that enable users to efficiently find homes that perfectly match their needs and preferences.
Financial flexibility is another key feature. The portal attends to different financial situations by offering both one-time payment options and customizable instalment plans.
Additionally, the portal integrates mortgage access, allowing users to easily check their eligibility for mortgage plans and apply directly through the platform. This is further complemented by support for equity contributions, simplifying financial planning for those considering mortgages.
Finally, the portal integrates with Nigeria’s Retirement Savings Account (RSA) system. This enables buyers to leverage up to 25% of their RSA balance for additional financial support towards their home purchase.
The launch of the portal coincides with the ongoing construction of houses under the “Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme.” These projects include a 3,112-unit city in Karsana, Abuja, and a recently launched 250-unit estate in Katsina State.
Similar projects are planned for Abia, Nasarawa, Benue, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Sokoto, Oyo, Osun, Kano, Yobe, Gombe, and Lagos States.
The initiative provides a variety of homeownership options, including attractive single-digit, up to 30-year mortgages, rent-to-own schemes, and outright purchases for high-income earners.
Incorporating a cross-subsidy system, the program comes with 20% of units reserved for low- and medium-income Nigerians at concessional rates.
I am interested in the program sir,
