Foxit Launches PDF Editor v2025.2

Foxit

Foxit, a global provider of PDF and eSignature solutions, has released Foxit PDF Editor v2025.2, introducing the industry’s first MCP (Modular Communication Protocol) Host.

This breakthrough enables real-time, AI-driven workflows across platforms such as Gmail, Salesforce, and Jira, transforming how professionals manage documents.

The new MCP Host allows users to perform actions directly within the PDF Editor as part of a multi-step, agentic workflow.

For example, text can be extracted from a document to create a Jira ticket, send an email via Gmail, or update Salesforce records—all without leaving the PDF environment. MCP’s standardised communication ensures the AI agent maintains context while moving seamlessly between tools.

By removing the need to switch between applications and re-enter data manually, Foxit is streamlining document-centric processes and enabling faster, smarter productivity.

“With the release of our MCP, we are leading the market in connecting PDF documents to a world of new systems – securely and without friction. MCP unlocks a world of capabilities,” said Nake Sekander, vice president of Product at Foxit. “It streamlines and optimizes every document workflow, enabling teams to move faster by staying connected to the tools they use the most.”

Real-World Use Cases with MCP Host

Foxit’s MCP Host integration supports a wide range of tools including Gmail, Salesforce, Canva, Jira, HubSpot, Box, and Autodesk Revit. It is available in both Foxit PDF Reader and PDF Editor Desktop as part of the AI Assistant.

  • Product Management & Engineering: Generate Jira tickets directly from technical specifications in a PDF, complete with document-linked references.
  • Legal Teams: Detect missing signatures or dates in NDAs and trigger automated follow-up emails through Gmail MCP servers.
  • Sales Operations: Extract financial data from purchase agreements and update Salesforce opportunities on the spot.

Expanding AI Capabilities

Alongside MCP Hosting, Foxit has expanded its AI Assistant with two new audio-first tools:

  • Read Summary: Produces and reads aloud concise, AI-generated summaries of PDFs for quick insight.
  • Smart Podcast: Converts complex or technical documents into conversational, podcast-style dialogues for easier absorption.

Availability

Foxit PDF Editor v2025.2, featuring MCP Hosting and enhanced AI-powered audio tools, is now available for Windows and Mac desktop users.
