In a demonstration of how technology and science can converge for national development, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, the managing director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone (GBB), on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, welcomed Dr. Bello Bwari, the director-general of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), and his team on a courtesy visit to GBB’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
What began as a formal visit quickly evolved into a conversation about collaboration, innovation, and the future of Nigeria’s digital and biosafety landscape.
In his opening remarks, Professor Adeyanju gave the visiting delegation an overview of Galaxy Backbone’s journey in building Nigeria’s digital infrastructure backbone, connecting ministries, departments, and agencies while driving the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.
He highlighted the company’s recent strides under the Integrated Digital Transformation Strategy (IDTS), an initiative designed to enhance connectivity, promote data-driven governance, and foster inter-agency efficiency.
Dr. Bwari, in response, commended GBB’s pivotal role in enabling secure and efficient communication across government institutions.

He explained how NBMA’s mission to safeguard Nigeria’s environment and citizens through biosafety and biosecurity regulation aligns with GBB’s technological drive.
According to him, “Technology plays a crucial role in monitoring, early warning, and compliance systems in the biosafety ecosystem, and partnerships like this help us strengthen our national response and capacity.”
The visit featured a detailed presentation on GBB’s IDTS framework and a guided tour of the company’s Security Operations Centre (SOC), Network Operations Centre (NOC), and Tier III Data Centre, the digital nerve centers powering government and enterprise operations nationwide.
