Globacom, Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, has been commended by Major General Kennedy Osemwegie, the Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Signals (NASS), for its unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s growth and development.
Major General Osemwegie, who led a delegation of senior officers on a courtesy visit to Glo’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, praised the company for staying true to its Nigerian roots since its inception 22 years ago.
“Globacom has consistently extended the frontiers of what it means to be proudly Nigerian through its Nigeria-centered focus,” the Commandant said.
He explained that the visit was aimed at strengthening ties and seeking collaboration, particularly through Glo Foundation, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, to support the Signals School’s training programmes.
“The Nigerian Army School of Signals is the hub of ICT and communications training for the Army and several paramilitary agencies. Partnering with forward-thinking organizations like Globacom will help us deliver on our mandate more effectively,” he noted.
Partnership Opportunities
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the company, Mrs. Mojisola Ashieru Sweet, Director, Strategy and Board Affairs at Globacom, expressed delight at the visit and reaffirmed Glo’s commitment to nation-building.
“We are proud to be an indigenous company that is transforming lives through technology. Collaborating with the Nigerian Army School of Signals is a natural fit, and we are ready to work together in areas that will deliver real impact,” she said.
Among the proposed areas of collaboration is the adoption of Glo Smart Learning Suite, an advanced Learning Management System (LMS) designed to enhance digital education. The suite offers tools for creating and delivering digital content, conducting live classes, online assessments, and performance reporting. It also integrates instant messaging and video conferencing features to create a richer, more interactive learning environment.
Globacom further disclosed that the package comes with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for seamless school administration and bundled data to ensure students enjoy uninterrupted access to learning resources anytime, anywhere.
This potential partnership between Globacom and Army School of Signals marks a significant step toward strengthening civil-military collaboration and advancing digital skills training for Nigeria’s armed forces and security ecosystem.
