Anambra’s Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, signed a bill into law on Tuesday appropriating N259 billion for 2023.

The Governor had submitted a draft budget of N259 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration on November 10.

The budget was built around five pillars, according to Soludo, who delivered the speech at the ceremony at the Governor’s Lodge in Awka.

Security, law and order, economic transformation, social agenda, human capital development, the transformation of government operations, and environmental transformation were on his list of priorities.

The Anambra House of Assembly, led by Speaker Uche Okafor, was thanked by the governor for their prompt and thorough study of the budget, which resulted in its readiness for signature.

He declared that his administration was prepared to provide the people of Anambra with high-quality governance and that all five policy thrusts will receive equal and concurrent attention.

He said that his administration was ready to deliver quality governance to the people of Anambra and that all the five policy thrusts would get equal and simultaneous attention.

“I want to thank the parliament for this productive partnership, especially the leadership, which ensures the expeditious scrutiny of the 2023 budget.

“This is the type of partnership we want to build the Anambra of our dream.

“This is the Budget of Acceleration, one that, despite the challenges of insecurity, and economic downturn, we are still pressing the accelerator.

“This budget prioritizes five major areas of focus as presented in my budget speech. We are now set to deliver for next year, with the budget in hand, let us get it done,” he said.
