If we were to get a dollar for all the times we’ve heard someone say ‘new year, new me’ as they approach a new year, we’d be millionaires now.
With the new year comes a renewed sense of hope and motivation to accomplish greater feats.
Kicking off the new year, Nigerian internet sensation, Ikorodu Bois, have created yet another brilliant video mimic. This time, they have recreated the inspiring MTN ‘We Move’ Television Commercial which speaks of rejection, hope, tenacity, creativity and turning one’s passion into a venture when our seemingly dream job or desire fails to come along as envisaged.
Ikorodu Bois’ official Instagram account posted the mimic of the We Move TVC with the caption, “This inspired us so we decided to mimic it to inspire everyone in this new year! Btw, AFCON starts today and we’re cheering the ng_supereagles to victory! Whatever the games bring, #WeMove #ThisIsNaija #WhereFootballLives.”
In the TVC, the central character discovers how he can turn his hobby into a thriving business. Coincidentally, this story is similar to the story of Ikorodu Bois.
Speaking in a Netflix feature, Babatunde Sanni, the eldest of the brothers who also doubles as their director said, “I just want to inspire people out there to make use of the things around them to achieve their goals and dreams.”
This is reflective of MTN Nigeria’s brand strategy of progress as well as the TVC’s message “We Move” which urges the youth to look inward and explore opportunities within their current situations to achieve success regardless of roadblocks.
MTN’s We Move campaign since its launch has continued to motivate people across Nigeria to set goals, grow their interest in various activities, make plans for their future, and develop their talent regardless of the challenges life throws at them.
Over the years, MTN has established itself as one of the roaring supporters of the Nigerian national team. However, that passion became official on the 2nd of September 2021 when MTN Nigeria signed an official partnership with the NFF to become the official communications partner of the Super Eagles and other national teams.
