Interledger Foundation has reiterated its mission to build equity and inclusion within an interoperable global payments network, enabling access to digital financial services for the 1.4 billion unbanked or underbanked people in the world.
Throughout 2023, Interledger Foundation is searching for the next cohort of Open Payment advocates and innovators to engage and build with historically marginalized communities using the Interledger Protocol (ILP) ILP enables payment networks to connect so that transactions are not limited to particular banks, mobile money providers, or even borders.
ILP-enabled Financial Services Grants: up to $75,000
The call for proposals is open, and will accept applications up to November 21, 2023.
Individuals interested in addressing payment problems in their community through open-source technology should apply for this grant. ILF is interested in concepts for ILP-enabled financial services exploring innovative open-source solutions to address clearly defined problems.
The types of solutions targeted include Digital Wallet Services, Online Banks, and other ILP-enabled Software that enable money to be transferred. Find more det ails here.

The call for proposals is open, and will accept applications up to November 21, 2023.
Individuals passionate about bringing diverse perspectives and new voices into the tech ecosystem are encouraged to apply.
ILF aims to activate people within historically marginalized communities to help build a more equitable and creative society, able to benefit from and connect within an interoperable global payments network.

That’s why we directly fund grassroots organizations and engage influencers and thought leaders from communities around the world”.
The Interledger Foundation (ILF) was established in 2020 as a U.S based 501(c)3 grantmaking organization. We aim to increase access to digital financial services by advocating for the adoption of the open-source currency network, the Interledger Protocol (ILP).
To date, ILF has granted over $14 million to 188 projects in over 40 countries working directly with historically marginalized groups.
