Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD., the governor of Katsina State has called on the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to intervene with telecommunications and internet infrastructure deployment in the State.
The Governor said the intervention will in no small measure assist the Katsina State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the delivery of their services to the citizens.
The Governor made the remark when he visited the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
He tweeted:
“Earlier today, I had the privilege of making a highly productive visit to the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) @NgComCommission.
“Upon arrival, I was warmly received by the esteemed Executive Vice Chairman, Dr. Aminu Wada Maida, as well as other senior members of the Commission.
“During our meeting, I took the opportunity to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Maida on his well-deserved appointment by President Ahmed Tinubu. I emphasized the paramount importance of him surpassing expectations and serving as an exceptional ambassador for Katsina State.
“It goes without saying that the telecommunications sector holds immense significance in driving the digital economy agenda of the Federal Government. This cannot be underestimated.
“In a humble manner, I put forth a request for the Commission’s invaluable support in enhancing the telecommunications and internet infrastructure across various Ministries, Departments, Agencies, hospitals, and schools in Katsina State.
“This endeavour aims to achieve a more streamlined operation of the government.
“Lastly, I assured them of my unwavering commitment to collaborate with the Commission and all other stakeholders in the industry. Together, we strive to facilitate the extension of services by Service Providers to the most remote towns and communities”.
