Lenovo is preparing to launch a new range of Copilot Plus PCs, which could bring more affordable options to the market.
According to reliable sources, the company will announce these new devices, including models powered by Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-released Snapdragon X Plus 8-core chip, at the upcoming IFA trade show in Berlin.
Among the upcoming releases are the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 and the IdeaPad Slim 5x. The IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 is a convertible device featuring a 14-inch OLED display, while the IdeaPad Slim 5x is a traditional clamshell laptop with a similar OLED display option.
Both devices will reportedly use the new Snapdragon X Plus 8-core chip, which is distinct from the standard 10-core version found in existing models.
Lenovo has set the starting price for the Slim 5x at €899, and the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 at €999, with availability expected in September. This pricing places them below the €1,199 retail price of Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 7, which is currently the most affordable Copilot Plus PC on the market.
It is yet to be known whether these prices will become similar discounts in the United States. While European consumers might see huge savings, the US market has seen varying prices, with devices like the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus and HP OmniBook X being offered at discounted rates.
Lenovo is going beyond just the Qualcomm-powered devices. The company is also set to introduce Copilot Plus PCs built with Intel and AMD processors.
The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition will feature Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 chips and other models like the Yoga Pro 7 and IdeaPad Slim 5 will be powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen processors.
This could provide Lenovo consumers with more budget-friendly options in the Copilot Plus category, especially in light of the higher prices currently associated with these AI-enabled PCs.
The official unveiling is expected at IFA Berlin, and consumers may soon have access to a wider range of affordable, high-performance laptops featuring the latest advancements in processor technology.
