At the 2023 HVAC Design Award, held in Korea this year, Nigeria made its debut in the competition and emerged victorious.
The HVAC Consultants Award Ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) contractors who showed exceptional expertise in the program.
Mr. Joonkyu Song, the General Manager of Air Solution at LG Electronics West Africa Operations, expressed his delight at the success of Nigerian HVAC consultants. In his welcome address, he noted the importance of the HVAC design award, stating, “The competition was entered into by all HVAC consultants, designers, and companies across LG subsidiaries, and it grabbed my heart to see two of our consultants emerging as the winners.”
He commended the awardees for their dedication, creative problem-solving, and seamless integration of cutting-edge technology into HVAC systems. Mr. Song acknowledged the impact of their success on energy efficiency and environmental consciousness, urging continuous innovation and sustainability in the industry.
Vinoth Sankar, the Manager of Air Conditioning in Nigeria, shed light on the journey of the consultants to the competition. He explained how, in response to a lack of submissions from West Africa in the previous year, efforts were made to encourage consultants to participate actively. Sankar showed satisfaction with the increased number of submissions and highlighted the success of the top two, who secured the bronze award.
Mr. Song and Mr. Vijay Bakshi, Part Leader of Commercial Air Conditioner in Nigeria and West Africa, presented the award and gifts to the winners. Mr. Vijay encouraged further participation in future events, stating, “We encourage you and other consultants in the market to participate more in the next year.”
Engineer Seun Yusuf of TechnoKonsult Engr & Mgt Consultants Ltd expressed gratitude for the award and reflected on the long-standing partnership with LG. He highlighted the collaborative design process, saying, “A lot of work from other manufacturers, but we chose LG because we believe it is one of the best.” Yusuf assured continued collaboration and thanked LG for the encouragement the award provided.
Engineer Femi of Kenbis Technical Services appreciated LG’s recognition and pledged to continue using LG products in the company’s projects. Showing gratitude, he stated, “We will continue our projects, putting them to an excellent finish, and they don’t have to worry about flaws.”
Mr. Vijay discussed the plans for the coming year, revealing, “We have two grants from reality, and there are some other funding sources they have completed by next year also.” He hinted at the possibility of gathering in Korea for the 2024 HVAC Design Award, expressing optimism for the future.
