LG Unveils Health Insurance Initiative for Consumers

LG Electronics Health Insurance Initiative

In a significant expansion of its corporate social responsibility footprint, LG Electronics has moved beyond its foundational malaria insurance program to offer broader health support for Nigerians.

Originally launched to combat the high incidence of malaria, a disease for which Nigeria accounts for roughly 26% of global cases; the initiative has evolved into a multi-tiered healthcare strategy through strategic partnerships with AXA Mansard Health.

This latest development marks a strategic upgrade, extending health benefits beyond malaria protection to provide comprehensive medical coverage and peace of mind for consumers.

The expanded insurance scheme is part of LG’s ongoing efforts to align cutting‑edge technology with meaningful social impact, particularly in a market where access to quality healthcare remains a critical concern.

By integrating comprehensive health insurance into its Air Conditioner offerings, LG is reinforcing its belief that premium home comfort should go hand‑in‑hand with improved quality of life.

Under the new scheme, eligible customers who purchase selected LG Air Conditioner models will receive free access to a comprehensive insurance package designed to address everyday healthcare needs.

The AXA Mansard–powered plan covers a wide range of common and uncomplicated medical conditions, including malaria, uncomplicated typhoid, and other acute febrile illnesses.

The insurance also provides coverage for respiratory conditions such as upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), mild cough, and mild bronchial asthma, as well as gastrointestinal and parasitic conditions including diarrhoea, dysentery, abdominal colic, and worm infections.

In addition, beneficiaries are covered for dermatological, eye, and soft tissue conditions such as skin and eye infections, dermatitis, furunculosis, lacerations, and bruises.

Care is also available for musculoskeletal pains, myalgia, urinary tract infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, and other uncomplicated bacterial, fungal, parasitic, and viral infections.

“This initiative reflects our understanding of what truly matters to Nigerian consumers beyond the products they purchase,” said Mr. Joonkyu Song, General Manager, Eco Solutions Division, LG Electronics Nigeria.

“We began by addressing malaria because of its widespread impact, and today we are proud to take this initiative further by offering more comprehensive health coverage. It is our way of supporting Nigerian families not just with reliable home solutions, but with care that extends into their everyday lives.”

Through this initiative, LG Electronics, in partnership with AXA Mansard Health, continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving quality of life by making essential healthcare support more accessible to Nigerian households.

Beyond healthcare support, LG’s Air Conditioner portfolio continues to deliver innovation designed for Nigeria’s climate and lifestyle needs.

The LG DUALCOOL Air Conditioners, powered by advanced Dual Inverter Compressor technology, offer faster cooling while significantly reducing energy consumption.

This energy‑saving performance helps consumers manage electricity costs more efficiently, supported by LG’s long‑term compressor warranty that underscores the brand’s confidence in durability and reliability.

LG’s Air Conditioners also feature smart control capabilities, enabling users to monitor and adjust cooling settings remotely via compatible smart devices. This added convenience allows for improved energy management and personalised comfort, reinforcing LG’s commitment to intelligent home solutions that adapt to modern living.

Complementing these features is LG’s Mosquito Away technology, designed to help reduce mosquito presence within indoor spaces through ultrasonic wave technology integrated into selected models.

Particularly relevant in malaria‑prone environments, the feature supports healthier home environments by enhancing everyday comfort and protection, aligning seamlessly with LG’s broader initiative to promote wellbeing beyond appliances.

For consumers seeking both performance and style, the LG ARTCOOL series combines sleek, contemporary design with powerful cooling, air purification, and energy‑efficient operation making it an ideal choice for modern Nigerian homes.

Through this diverse Air Conditioner range, LG continues to pair technological excellence with purposeful innovation, delivering comfort solutions that support better living.

To activate the free comprehensive insurance plan, eligible customers are encouraged to visit Fouani Showrooms or any accredited LG dealer nationwide for more information.
