MTN Blames Service Disruptions on Multiple Fibre Cuts

MTN apologies to customers over service outages

MTN Nigeria has blamed multiple fibre cuts as responsible for the service outage witnessed by millions of the subscribers today.

The network interruptions affected the Nigeria’s largest telco’s voice and data services.

Many of its customers have lamented difficulty making calls or using the internet.

In a statement published on social media, the telecommunications provider said: “You have been experiencing challenges connecting to the network due to a major service outage caused by multiple fibre cuts, affecting voice and data services.

We are working to ensure that this is resolved.

“Our engineers are working hard to resolve with services gradually being restored in some areas.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and ask for your patience and understanding as the team works to restore full service as soon as possible,” the statement by MTN reads.
