In a compelling and enlightening event, “the TECH Skillup Abakaliki,” held on November 18, 2023, Engineer Edoga Chukwudi, the founder, and CEO of Digital Dreams Limited, articulated the paramount importance of cultivating digital literacy in today’s dynamic world.

Drawing a powerful analogy, he stated, “When a train is moving fast, the safest side to be in is at the steering; the second safest is inside the train. The worst position is to stand in its path or against it.” This metaphor served to underscore the critical significance of acquiring digital skills and understanding the diverse roles available in the technology landscape.

Engr. Chukwudi went on to highlight the inevitable impact of the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technology on the labor market. As these technologies advance, certain jobs will be automated, potentially resulting in substantial layoffs of unskilled workers. This served as a stark reminder of the urgency for individuals to upskill and adapt to the changing demands of the job market.

Dr. Emeka, the ICT director of Ebonyi State University, took the stage to shed light on the vast opportunities within the TECH world. His insights delved into the potential for growth, innovation, and development that the technology sector offers to those who are prepared to seize it.

Mr. Chinedu, the Regional Manager of Digital Dreams Limited, shared valuable perspectives on how individuals can navigate and make informed decisions when choosing a career in TECH.

His insights provided a roadmap for aspiring tech enthusiasts, guiding them on the diverse paths available in the ever-expanding TECH industry.

Pastor David, an ICT consultant, explored the realms of creativity and marketing within the TECH landscape. His presentation underscored the symbiotic relationship between technology and creativity, emphasizing how these elements converge to drive innovation and success in the digital age.

In conclusion, the TECH Skillup Abakaliki event served as a beacon of knowledge and inspiration for attendees, offering a holistic view of the digital landscape and equipping them with insights to navigate the evolving TECH frontier successfully.

The collective wisdom shared by industry experts reinforced the notion that digital literacy is not merely an option but a necessity for anyone looking to thrive in our rapidly advancing technological era.
