By joining forces, NDPC and ngTeenCyberfest2023 are committed to addressing these concerns head-on and fostering a safer online environment for Nigerian teenagers.

This year’s edition of Nigeria Teen Cyber Festival: ngTeenCyberFest 2023 is holding September 28 inside Baze University, Abuja with the main theme of ‘Promoting Young People & the Power of Innovation in a Digital Economy’. Abuja is hosting the hybrid event of real life, onsite conference and expo as well as virtual interaction simultaneously.

Under this collaboration, NDPC will bring its unparalleled expertise in data protection and privacy regulations to the forefront, providing guidance and insights to ngTeenCyberfest2023 organizers and attendees.

NDPC will offer information designed to equip teenagers with the necessary knowledge to protect their online privacy, identify potential risks, and respond effectively to any cybersecurity challenges they may encounter.

The ngTeenCyberFest 2023 is organised by C-C Pro [Child Cyber Protection], an organisation promoting healthy interaction of young people and technology.

The 2023 edition is hosting hundreds of students from secondary and higher education centres of learning to interact with subject-matter experts and stakeholders helping to improve the management of young Nigerians in cyberspace.

“We are excited to partner with ngTeenCyberfest2023 to raise awareness about the importance of online safety and data protection among Nigerian teenagers. With the rising prevalence of cyber threats, it is crucial that we equip our youth with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate the digital landscape safely. By working together, we aim to create a more resilient and secure digital environment for Nigerian youngsters,” said National Commissioner/CEO of the NDPC.

The event is building on its institutional partnerships with organisations that include nHub NG, Baobab Think Limited, Nestsquare, Qitech Eagles 102.3 FM, Abuja, Bionic Concept Limited, CYSEC Nigeria, Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI), TEZZA Academy and Accra Institute of Technology (AIT).

In addition to presentation at this year’s event, the partnership will also include awareness campaigns, and outreach initiatives geared towards engaging parents, educators, and other stakeholders. By involving all relevant parties, NDPC and ngTeenCyberfest2023 aspire to collectively promote a culture of online consciousness throughout Nigeria.

“We are delighted to collaborate with NDPC, as this partnership reinforces our commitment to empowering Nigerian teenagers with the necessary skills to protect themselves online,” said Ms Delmwa Gogwim, the Co- Founder of ngTeenCyberfest2023.

Adding: “By organizing interactive events and campaigns, we aim to create a paradigm shift where Nigerian youth not only understand the importance of cybersecurity but actively practice safe online habits. We look forward to working closely with NDPC to achieve this vision.”
