The Nigerian Exchange Group Plc has officially confirmed the appointment of Ms. Obehi Ikhaghe as the Company Secretary, effective from 13th April 2023.

This significant announcement was made in a statement signed by the CEO, Oscar N. Onyema, OON, and filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

The decision to appoint Ms. Ikhaghe as the Company Secretary was approved during the board meeting of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, held on 14th July 2023.

Her appointment marks the conclusion of her role as the acting Company Secretary, a position she assumed in January 2023 after the departure of the former Company Secretary, Mrs. Mojisola Adeola.

With a wealth of experience in various legal domains, Ms. Ikhaghe is a seasoned lawyer with over 14 years of professional expertise, specializing in Company Secretarial, Corporate Governance, Corporate Law, Compliance, and General Legal Practice.

Before joining Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, Ms. Obehi Ikhaghe served as a Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for the Ready Mix and Aggregates Division at Lafarge Africa Plc, showcasing her proficiency in handling complex legal matters within the corporate sector.

Her academic qualifications are equally impressive, having earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the esteemed University of Lagos, and later, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the same institution, further solidifying her legal knowledge and credentials.

The appointment of Ms. Ikhaghe as the Company Secretary marks a pivotal moment in the growth and development of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, as her vast experience and expertise are expected to contribute significantly to the company’s corporate governance and legal affairs.

The Nigerian investing public can expect positive impacts from this strategic appointment, as Ms. Obehi Ikhaghe takes on her new role and continues to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and dedication.

With this latest development, Nigerian Exchange Group Plc demonstrates its commitment to maintaining excellence and strengthening its legal and corporate governance frameworks, paving the way for a promising future.
