The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has approved the promotion of 523 of its staff members across various cadres as part of the statutory performance reward system under the 2025 promotion cycle.

The exercise, announced by Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, the Commission’s director-general and chief executive officer, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

According to an official statement signed by Dr. Kayode Adegoke, NIMC’s head of Corporate Communications, the promotions reflect eligibility under the Public Service Rules and recognise staff who met performance prerequisites during the cycle.

Breakdown of 2025 Promotions at NIMC

The commission disclosed the following cadre advancements:

  • 2 employees elevated to Director (Grade Level 17)

  • 35 to Chief Identity Officer (GL 14)

  • 113 to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12)
  • 82 to Senior Identity Officer (GL 10)
  • 130 to Identity Officer I (GL 9)

In her remarks, Coker-Odusote congratulated the promoted staff and urged them to view their new roles as opportunities to contribute more meaningfully to the commission’s mandate, particularly the successful implementation of the National Identification Number (NIN) project into 2026.
