The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has invited stakeholders across government, industry, academia, and civil society to a public review session of the Draft Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Live Events and Draft Technical Standard for the Nigerian Data Exchange (NGDX).

The review session will hold on Thursday, 18th September 2025, at the Digital Economy Complex, NCC Building, Mbora, Abuja by 9:00 AM.

According to the Agency, the engagement forms a critical part of its Rule-Making Process (RMP) designed to co-create regulatory instruments that are trusted, inclusive, and sustainable, aligning Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda with global best practices.

Explaining the significance of the exercise, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, NITDA’s director general, said:

“The Draft DPI Live events is a key enabler for seamless deployment of national digital public infrastructure. It will strengthen e-Government service delivery, enable interoperability, and foster collaboration across the private sector. The Draft Technical Standard for the Nigerian Data Exchange (NGDX), on the other hand, provides a unified, secure framework for data sharing across government institutions and private enterprises. Together, these initiatives will streamline service delivery, reduce inefficiencies, and unlock innovation in critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, education, and agriculture.”

Inuwa emphasized that the draft standards have been developed with strong safeguards for data protection, authentication, and privacy, aligning with internationally recognized best practices.

“We encourage all stakeholders to review the draft documents ahead of the session and come prepared to share actionable feedback. Your participation is critical in shaping a resilient and trusted framework that will power Nigeria’s digital economy,” she added.

He also stressed the importance of stakeholder involvement, noting that the success of DPI and NGDX depends on co-creation.

“Our digital public infrastructure must be built with input from all relevant actors. This is the only way we can ensure resilience, trust, and sustainability in the solutions we are deploying,” Abdullahi said.

The Draft DPI and NGDX are part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda to build a robust digital economy. The initiatives are being developed with support from international partners under the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative and technical collaboration with Finland, Estonia, Germany, and France.

Stakeholders can access the draft documents ahead of the session via the link here. For further inquiries, NITDA advised contacting the Agency via eGDED@nitda.gov.ng.
