Tinubu Dissolves Parastatals

President Bola Tinubu has announced the dissolution of the boards of various parastatals, agencies, institutions, and government-owned companies under the Federal Government.

This decision was made shortly after the President replaced all service chiefs with new appointees.

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) issued a statement confirming the dissolution. The President exercised his constitutional powers and made this decision in the public interest.

However, the dissolution does not affect Boards, Commissions, and Councils mentioned in the Third Schedule, Part 1, Section 153 (i) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

Until new boards are constituted, the Chief Executive Officers of the affected entities are instructed to refer matters requiring board attention to the President through their respective supervisory ministries and offices, as directed by the Permanent Secretaries.

These correspondences should be routed through the Office of the SGF. All Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are required to comply with this directive, which came into effect on June 16, 2023
