RetailWings Africa, a pan-African retail technology company, has announced a strategic partnership with Corner Block Services Limited aimed at transforming how retailers access business financing by leveraging operational data generated through digital retail systems.

The partnership agreement was formally signed at the RetailWings Africa Head Office in Lagos by Akinola Akintilebo, managing partner of RetailWings Africa, and Matthew Enemona Ameh, head of Sales and Business Development Manager at Corner Block Services Limited.

The collaboration introduces a technology-enabled financing model that allows eligible retailers using the RetailWings ERP platform to access working capital based on verified business performance and transaction history, reducing dependence on traditional collateral requirements.

Connecting Technology with Financial Inclusion

Across Africa, thousands of small and medium-sized retailers continue to face barriers to accessing credit despite running viable businesses. Traditional lending models often rely heavily on physical collateral and limited financial records, creating a significant gap between business potential and access to capital.

RetailWings Africa believes technology can help bridge that gap. By utilizing real-time operational and transactional data generated through its ERP platform, RetailWings is creating a framework where business performance becomes a measurable asset.

Through the partnership, Corner Block Services Limited will use these insights to support data-driven lending decisions, enabling qualified merchants to access financing based on actual business activity.

The initiative reflects a growing shift toward embedded finance and alternative credit assessment models, where technology platforms play an active role in connecting underserved businesses with financial opportunities.

A New Layer of Value for Retail ERP Users

RetailWings Africa was designed to help retailers digitize and streamline core business functions, including inventory management, sales tracking, finance, staff management, customer engagement, and reporting.

With this new partnership, the platform expands beyond operational efficiency into business enablement.

Merchants who actively use the RetailWings ERP platform for at least three months will become eligible to apply for working capital financing through Corner Block Services Limited, creating a direct link between digital adoption and access to growth capital.

The initiative is expected to help retailers improve inventory availability, strengthen cash flow management, respond more effectively to market demand, and accelerate expansion plans.

Driving Africa’s Digital Commerce Ecosystem

Speaking on the significance of the partnership, Akinola Akintilebo, managing partner of RetailWings Africa, said:

“Technology should do more than automate business processes; it should create opportunities. This partnership demonstrates how retail data can be transformed into a tool for economic empowerment. By combining enterprise technology with access to financing, we are helping merchants build stronger, more resilient businesses while contributing to the growth of Africa’s digital commerce ecosystem.”

Also speaking at the signing ceremony, Matthew Enemona Ameh, head of Sales and Business Development Manager at Corner Block Services Limited, highlighted the role of technology in expanding financial access for underserved businesses.

“Data is reshaping the future of lending. Through this partnership, we can better understand business performance and provide financing solutions that reflect the realities of modern retail operations. We believe this model will open new opportunities for entrepreneurs who have traditionally struggled to access formal credit.”

Supporting the Future of Retail Innovation

The partnership comes at a time when digital transformation is accelerating across Africa’s retail sector. As more businesses adopt technology platforms to manage operations, new opportunities are emerging to leverage business data for services beyond software, including financing, analytics, and business intelligence.

For RetailWings Africa, the collaboration represents another step toward building an integrated retail ecosystem where technology serves as both an operational tool and a catalyst for growth.

The company says the initiative aligns with its long-term vision of modernizing retail across Africa by helping businesses become more efficient, data-driven, and financially empowered.
