Sabi Writers is out to nurture the next generation of African Creative. The company demonstrated this at its inaugural annual guest lecture series titled “The Frontline”, held on August 30th, 2024.

The lecture, themed “Leading a High-Performance Culture” focused on building an organisational culture towards delivering high-performance results.

The Guest Lecturer for this 2024 Edition was Mrs Funke Amobi, the deputy head of Operations, Stanbic IBTC, one of Africa’s leading HR experts with over 30 years of experience.

The event which began at 10:00 AM featured employees exposed to insightful lectures on building a high-performance culture. It also featured spoken-word performances, panel discussions, Q&A, and refreshments.

Speaking at the lecture series, Chinonso Ogbogu, the CEO od Sabi Writer, said,

‘At Sabi Writers, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of African creatives and empowering them with the skills and opportunities they need to shape the future of Africa’s creative industry. Our annual guest lecture series is a cornerstone of the mission, bringing in thought leaders and executives who inspire and challenge our talents to break the boundaries in the industry’.

This is the first of its kind in the creative writing industry in Africa and the goal is to bring young creatives in Sabi Writers under one roof to learn, connect, and rub minds with top industry experts in the continent.

Speaking at the event, Bethany-Angel Chijindu, the Head of Learning, reemphasized the company’s commitment in driving workplace learning for all employees, helping them build capacity for growth.

With a successful lecture this 2024, the preparations for the 2025 Edition are already on course, as it promises to be bigger and better in the coming year.
