Spotify has extended its AI Playlist feature to Premium subscribers in the US, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand.

Initially launched in the UK and Australia earlier this year, the AI Playlist tool enables users to create personalised music playlists from text-based prompts.

With this expansion, subscribers in these additional English-speaking regions can now enjoy a more specific and interactive music curation through this cutting-edge feature.

The AI Playlist combines Spotify’s established personalisation technology with advanced generative AI, enabling users to create playlists that align with specific moods, events, or creative ideas.

Simply typing a detailed prompt—such as “upbeat pop for a weekend road trip” or “chill jazz for a relaxing evening”— will make the feature generate a customised set of songs. Users can refine and adjust these playlists by adding further prompts to create the ideal mix.

Spotify’s AI Playlist has already become popular in its initial regions. Since its release in the UK and Australia, millions of playlists have been generated, showing strong engagement from users.

The playlists themselves are key drivers of music discovery on Spotify, with the platform reporting over 22 billion new artist discoveries each month. This feature builds on that foundation, giving listeners an easy and interactive way to curate music that fits their unique preferences.

Premium subscribers can access the AI Playlist feature by navigating to the “Your Library” section in the Spotify mobile app, tapping the “+” button, and selecting “AI Playlist.” From there, they can type in their own prompt or choose from suggested options.

While this feature is still in its beta phase, Spotify is continuing to learn from user interactions and will further refine the tool over time. The feature currently remains exclusive to the mobile app, with no desktop or web version available yet.

With its expansion into these new regions, Spotify aims to offer more users the ability to curate and enjoy customised playlists in ways that reflect their individual tastes and creative flair.

Later on, Spotify plans to introduce additional updates, enhancing the user experience and opening up even more opportunities for music discovery.
