Greenera Technologies

In the vast landscape of Nigeria, where urban centers often bask in the glow of electricity, a stark contrast exists in emerging communities grappling with the darkness of energy poverty.

Nigeria, with a population exceeding 180 million, grapples with a staggering 95 million individuals lacking adequate access to power. While previous efforts have addressed this issue, the existing solutions are often expensive, inadequate, or inaccessible to a significant portion of the population.

In the shadows of progress, numerous emerging communities across Nigeria find themselves without the luxury of reliable and affordable electricity. Detailing the harsh reality of energy poverty, we explore the daily struggles of residents who rely on inefficient and environmentally harmful alternatives, such as generators, candles, or kerosene lamps.

Gift Muoneke, the charismatic CEO and co-founder of Greenera Technologies, a rapidly growing energy firm, has undertaken the charge to provide rural communities with access to electricity. Gift’s startup has directly impacted more than 200 homes and small companies since its founding, and its reach is still increasing.

Presently, many Nigerians resort to fossil fuel-powered alternatives like paraffin and kerosene lamps, as well as diesel and petrol generators, due to their lower initial costs.

However, the long-term consequences, both environmentally and economically, outweigh these benefits. For instance, the World Health Organization (WHO) highlights that inhaling fumes from paraffin and kerosene lamps is equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes daily.

Greenera Technologies (G-Tech) is a shining example of creativity in the fight against the overpriced and insufficient power supply that millions of Nigerians endure. Their brilliant idea provides homes, workplaces, dorms, and other locations with an economical, environmentally responsible, and readily available power source.

Solution for the Underserved through Greenera Technologies

Greenera Technologies presents solar-powered gadgets that function as reasonably priced and long-lasting pure energy sources. The GT200, which costs N55,000, and the GT300, which costs N70,000, are the two different versions that the company sells. Both have a standing fan that can run for up to 12 hours. This innovative strategy promotes economic viability and environmental awareness in addition to solving the electricity crisis.

Greenera Technologies is not just about providing solar systems; it is also about embracing a sustainable energy future. The range of services extends beyond manufacturing and distribution to encompass expert consulting, collaborating with individuals and businesses, conducting in-depth assessments of their energy needs, crafting tailor-made solar systems, and offering continuous support and maintenance.

Their innovative microgrid solutions are tailored to communities without access to electricity. When community leaders seek a sustainable energy solution through Greenera Technologies, the firm’s expert team conducts a thorough site visit to understand the energy requirements and assess the feasibility of a solar system installation.

Following the site visit, Greenera Technologies crafts a bespoke solar system that aligns with the community’s energy needs. A detailed quote for system installation and ongoing maintenance is presented, approved by community leaders, and swiftly executed.

A Proud Founder

Gift Muoneke, a proud graduate of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, originates from Akokwa, Ideato North, Imo State, Nigeria. His journey in the realm of value-driven impact extends beyond Greenera Technologies.

Gift has actively engaged with impactful organizations like Deeper Life Campus Fellowship, ENACTUS, and Junior Achievement Nigeria, where he led various projects in diverse communities.

Appreciated on esteemed websites like Forbes, Gift Muoneke has drawn notice for his outstanding accomplishments. Reputable institutions such as the Hult Prize Foundation, the Afrigrants Foundation, Leap Africa, the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership and Development, and Innopower USA have bestowed honors upon him.

Among his many achievements are being a finalist for the Forbes Nigeria Digital Accelerator, a finalist for Ignite Africa, a winner of the Ideation Cup 2019, a first runner-up in the University Ventures Cup 2019, a finalist in the Mentor Matchup Challenge, a finalist for the Top 6 Hult Prize 2020 Regionals, a global finalist at the Entrepreneurship World Cup, and a first runner-up in the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge (Abuja Edition).

Gift Muoneke’s path is evidence of his dedication to worldwide recognition, impact, and invention.
