The Impact Investors Foundation (IIF), has announced the 2nd Gender Impact Investment Summit, an event dedicated to closing the gender financing gap by advocating for women-centric policies and promoting impact-driven investments.
The summit will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Four Points by Sheraton, bringing together key stakeholders from across the government, investment, development and entrepreneurial communities to champion gender-inclusive financing practices in impact investing.
Building on the success of the inaugural summit, this year’s event with the theme “From Promise to Progress: Accelerating Impact Capital for Women-Led Enterprises” will feature a range of activities designed to foster collaboration and drive progress in empowering women-led enterprises. Attendees will include impact investors, development finance institutions, government officials, philanthropic organisations, and female entrepreneurs who are transforming Nigeria’s economic landscape.
The 2nd Gender Impact Investment Summit will showcase successful gender-inclusive business models, highlight financial products tailored specifically for women, and emphasise the need for increased diversity among decision-makers in the investment ecosystem.
The summit aims to promote policies that support women-led businesses and create a more equitable environment for women in the impact investing landscape.
Expressing enthusiasm for the upcoming event, Etemore Glover, CEO of Impact Investors Foundation, said,
“The 2nd Gender Impact Investment Summit is more than just a gathering, it’s a call to action to create an investment landscape where women are not only included but financially empowered. By addressing the gender financing gap and advocating for women-led policies, we can ensure that women-led enterprises play a central role in Nigeria’s economic development.”
The summit will serve as a platform for advancing impact investment knowledge, dialogue, and actions, ensuring that investors are able to accelerate the flow of impact capital to women-led enterprises.
By focusing on long-term strategies, the Gender Impact Investment Summit will help create an environment where women-led businesses can thrive and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s sustainable economic growth.
