Triangle News International (TNI) celebrated its 10th Anniversary at King’s College London with a distinguished assembly of policymakers, business leaders, academics, and diaspora influencers.

The event was masterfully anchored by renowned comedian and media personality Seyi Law, whose presence added energy and elegance to the occasion.

The event was headlined by the Keynote Address delivered by Dr Bunmi Tunji‑Ojo, the minister of Interior, whose remarks set a forward‑looking tone on governance, national development, and diaspora engagement.

Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola, serving as Speaker, Panellist, and Chairman of the Board of Triangle News International, Nigeria’s, and Africa’s first Professor of Cybersecurity and Information Technology Management, delivered a widely acclaimed intervention that underscored the strategic importance of Nigerians in the diaspora to the nation’s development agenda.

Professor Ademola emphasised the urgent need for Nigeria to adopt a contemporary and contextual definition of its diaspora population, describing them as partners in progress whose contributions are indispensable to national transformation.

Drawing from nearly three decades of residence in the United Kingdom, he highlighted the diaspora’s role as knowledge carriers, innovators, institution builders, and global ambassadors.

He further argued that nothing should prevent the Federal Government from appointing qualified diaspora professionals directly into the National Executive Council, noting that many nations around the world actively integrate their diaspora into leadership roles to strengthen governance and innovation.

Addressing Nigeria’s technological future, Professor Ademola stressed the need for robust digital infrastructure across all sectors of the economy.

As a leading scholar in cybersecurity and digital systems, he stated that Nigeria cannot achieve global competitiveness with analogue foundations, insisting that technology must become the backbone of national development.

In one of the most notable moments of the evening, Professor Ademola delivered a high commendation of Otunba Femi Salako, the CEO of Triangle News International, praising his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to truth-driven journalism.

He noted that Otunba Salako’s work has significantly strengthened diaspora engagement and national discourse, inspiring him to call for the establishment of a National Database of Technocrats, a comprehensive registry of Nigerian experts at home and abroad who can be mobilised for national assignments, policy development, and strategic interventions.

The high‑level panel featured Kola Adesina, group managing director of Sahara Group and a leading African entrepreneur, and Prince Bimbo Roberts Afolayan, a respected diaspora leader and advocate for global Nigerian engagement.

Their contributions enriched the discourse on governance, innovation, diaspora investment, and the future of Nigeria’s global partnerships.

During the event, Professor Ademola commended the exemplary leadership of His Excellency Dr Dauda Lawal, Governor of Zamfara State, and the Minister of Interior, Dr Bunmi Tunji‑Ojo, praising their commitment to public service and urging Nigerians to allow such leaders to continue their work for the nation.

He also encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to engage constructively with the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that national development requires continuity, collaboration, and long‑term commitment.

He reiterated that the diaspora must play an active role in supporting institutional reforms and contributing to national stability under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Reflecting on the milestone celebration, Professor Ademola described Triangle News International as “a beacon of responsible journalism” that has spent a decade amplifying African voices, challenging stereotypes, and strengthening the bridge between the diaspora and the homeland.

He affirmed the organisation’s commitment to expanding its global footprint and deepening its impact in the years ahead.

The anniversary event concluded with a renewed call for partnership between Nigeria and its diaspora community, with Professor Ademola asserting that the nation’s future “will be written by all of us, at home and abroad, working together with clarity, courage, and conviction.”

Triangle News International will release a comprehensive report on the event and continue its mission of promoting truth-driven journalism and diaspora engagement.
