How to check WASSCE or GCE result

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the May/June 2025 WASSCE results for school candidates, ushering in relief for millions of students across Nigeria and other participating nations.

Clear Official Confirmation amid Rumor Storm

After weeks of anxiety and viral misinformation claiming the exam was canceled due to malpractice, WAEC clarified the rumors were false, confirming marking has been concluded and the results would be available on or before August 4 via official channels.

Digital-First Access: How to Check Your WAEC Results

1. WAEC Direct Web Portal

Visit here, then:

  • Enter your 10-digit exam number
  • Select “School Candidate Result”
  • Input your e‑PIN and serial number
  • Click Submit to access your grades.

2. SMS-Based Result Checker

For users without reliable internet:

  • Send:
    WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear

Students get five free tries per e-PIN after which a new one must be purchased if needed.

Why This Matters to Young Digital Entrepreneurs

  • Speed and Accessibility: Gone are the days of visiting physical offices; results are available instantly online or via SMS.
  • Cost Efficiency: Access via SMS for just ₦30—minimal yet reliable.
  • Digital Literacy: Navigating the portal or SMS system builds confidence in tech-enabled services.
  • Security Awareness: Lessons in using only verified platforms, digital safety becomes a life skill.

What to Do If You Encounter Difficulties

If your result doesn’t load or shows errors:

  • Ensure you typed your exam number and PIN correctly.
  • Reach out via WAEC’s online support or local office.
  • Avoid unverified third-party platforms to prevent scams.

Reliable Tech in an Age of Misinformation

With WAEC debunking social media rumors and affirming technology-backed result delivery, this year’s process showcases the power of official digital tools in restoring confidence and enabling seamless access.

As students and parents await their future plans, university, work, entrepreneurship, WAEC’s tech-enabled system has ensured transparency and ease in the most critical academic milestone of the year.
