Whatadeal eCommerce, the online storefront division of Whatadeal Africa, lit up Lagos as it hosted its recently concluded inaugural Mega Trade Fair at Chief Yesufu Abiodun Road, Oniru, Lagos.

The two-day event brought together vendors and buyers from across Nigeria, delivering a vibrant marketplace experience that connected businesses directly with consumers across fashion, beauty, food, technology and lifestyle sectors in a colourful celebration of commerce and community.

The event recorded a vibrant atmosphere with attendance from MTN, MoMo, Honeywell and Amstel, alongside over 100 vendors who participated in the fair.

Shoppers enjoyed not only exclusive deals but also games, entertainment and interactive activations, creating a family-friendly experience that blended business with leisure.

Speaking about the fair, Mr Fela Bank-Olemoh, managing director of Whatadeal Africa, said:

“At Whatadeal, everything starts with our customers. As an e-commerce platform, our primary goal is to ensure that anyone who runs a business on our platform is supported every step of the way. This trade fair was designed to do exactly that by giving our online sellers a physical space to meet customers, and by helping offline vendors take their businesses online. What we are ultimately building is a community, an ecosystem that helps you grow from where you are to where you want to be.

“Seeing vendors and customers come together, connect and transact in this way has been truly exciting. The energy, the engagement and the feedback tell us that this is only the beginning. Our vision is to make the Whatadeal Mega Trade Fair an annual event, and each year, it will only get bigger and better,” he remarked.

Also speaking at the event, Wale Lawal, head of E-Commerce at Whatadeal, emphasised the company’s commitment to strengthening trade in Nigeria through innovation:

“Whatadeal stands for the promotion of commerce and the growth of Nigerian businesses. This trade fair is part of our broader mission to make trade easier, access wider and opportunities greater for entrepreneurs. By connecting vendors directly to buyers and linking physical commerce with digital platforms, we are helping to build a stronger, more inclusive trade ecosystem in Nigeria.”

Vendors equally expressed satisfaction with the experience. Sandra James, business owner at Sandiertw, described the fair as deeply rewarding:

“Being part of the fair was a huge highlight for me. Meeting new customers, showcasing my pieces and seeing people connect with my designs was truly fulfilling. It was an amazing opportunity to grow and be seen.”

The Whatadeal Mega Trade Fair reflects Whatadeal’s broader vision of blending digital innovation with human connection.

By taking businesses from physical to online and from online to community, the company continues to redefine the retail experience in Nigeria.

Following the successful debut of the event, Whatadeal has confirmed plans to make the Mega Trade Fair an annual feature, with future editions expected to scale in size, reach and impact.
