It was more than just the flag-off of a tech initiative. It was a glimpse into Anambra’s future.
On a bright Thursday morning at the iconic Tower of Light in Awka, something remarkable happened: a sleek, custom-built tech bus, equipped with high-speed internet, voice and data access, and full backup power, was officially unveiled by Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the deputy governor of Anambra State.
This wasn’t just any vehicle. It was the GEFAS Mobile Tech Hub, a symbol of Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s digital vision in motion.
Designed by the Geeks & Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS) and led by Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, the Mobile Tech Hub is more than a bus, it’s a mobile promise. A promise that free, fast, and accessible internet can reach every Anambra citizen, no matter where they are.
“Wherever this vehicle parks, people can connect freely,” Dr. Ibezim said, beaming with pride. “This aligns perfectly with the Governor’s mission to make Anambra a place where people can live, work, invest, relax, and enjoy.”
With capacity to serve up to 3,000 people per stop, the Tech Hub expands the reach of the Solution WiFi initiative, which is already active in 26 locations across the state, including four higher institutions and several student lodges.
GEFAS Convener, CFA, credited the success of the initiative to Soludo’s tech-forward leadership, particularly policies like waiving Right of Way (RoW) charges, which accelerated broadband expansion across the state.
“All over the world, we know that when broadband expands, economies grow,” he said. “Now, with this mobile hub, the campaign trail becomes a digital access trail. People can hop online, download a movie, search for jobs, study, or simply stay connected.”
But this isn’t just a campaign feature. According to Dr. Ibezim, it’s just the beginning.
“This will not be a one-off,” he assured. “The Governor is working to make this permanent. We’re not stopping at one vehicle.”

As the bus begins its journey across Anambra, connecting neighbourhoods, boosting productivity, and shrinking the digital divide, GEFAS continues to prove that digital empowerment is no longer a dream, but a delivery.
This is connectivity with purpose. This is innovation with heart.
