Stylist Piazza, a platform offering professional online services to service providers in the Beauty industry, had its maiden workshop on May 4, 2024, at the University of Lagos.
Themed: ‘Building a Sustainable Beauty Enterprise,’ the workshop had in attendance over 100 enthusiastic participants all excited to build a sustainable beauty enterprise.
In his keynote address, Engr. Chima Obiaka, founder/chief executive officer of Stylist Piazza, said the Stylist Piazza App was developed to serve as a platform offering professional online services to service providers in the Beauty industry.
He said the App has reimagined the beauty business approach, automating workflow, saving time, and helping professionals easily understand their performance analytics and make more money.
Chima stated that Stylist Piazza aims to promote sustainable, inclusive, and sustained growth in beauty servicing by professionals in the beauty industry, making players in the industry more productive and increasing their profit margins.
“We developed this App to make you look effortlessly and conveniently beautiful. This drives us and keeps us going as we are committed to ensuring our customers have access to the best beauticians in Lagos and its environs. And this is at minimal cost and absolute convenience.
“We want to be the app our customers think of, for any freelancing job as a skilled beauty service professional. They worry about providing the service, while we worry about regulating the service and moderating the way payment for service is being passed.
“The app is for professionals offering makeup services, hairstyling, barbering services, and nail technicians. All they need to do is create their profile, post their work in the profile category, and write an elevator pitch on their service offerings on their Bio.
“After that, professionals are expected to update their services and home service price propositions and verify their profile with the required KYC information. They can now start accessing a network pool of value-oriented clients,” Chima said.
One of the lead speakers at the workshop, Mr. Gideon Uzoma Okoro highlighted the importance of building real relationships in the industry rather than seeing everyone as competition, tasking his audience to “work hard, learn from each other, and grow together.”
Also contributing, Oluchi Ezenwaka who covered everything from social media tips, took the workshop participants on the use of technology to accelerate business in the beauty world, citing apps like Stylist Piazza and how they can help boost business.
Her conversation sparked a lot of buzz and got people thinking about how they could use technology as a virtual assistant to get ahead in their businesses.
Apart from the insightful and valuable conversations that filled the air at the workshop, the audience had the time to fully utilize the app during a practical demonstration of the workings of the app.
The participants enjoyed a hands-on experience of how the Stylist Piazza App works and how they can use it to boost their revenue as stylists.
Speaking at the end of the workshop, Chima Obiaka expressed delight at the turn-out of participants at the event, saying that it was a clear demonstration of the people’s desire to embrace such technologies that would enhance their businesses.
“It was clear that everyone felt stronger as a community. Stylist Piazza exists to enhance economic growth by fostering self-employment and sustainable beauty service delivery accessibility in the African Beauty Industry.
“Events like this continue to show our commitment because everyone left feeling ready to tackle new challenges and are all looking forward to the next workshop. It was more than just learning; it was about making connections and having a good time,” he said.
