Rumours about Samsung withdrawing from its billion-dollar advertising campaign for the Paris 2024 Olympics have been debunked as false. 

These claims, which originated from a satirical website, have led to widespread misinformation among social media users.

The article in question, published on the satirical site Esspots, stated that Samsung pulled out of the Olympics sponsorship due to the games becoming “too woke.”

This story was shared across social media, with many users taking the satirical content at face value. Despite this, there has been no official announcement from Samsung or any credible news source confirming such a withdrawal.

Samsung remains a partner with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as part of The Olympic Partner (TOP) programme. This partnership, which highlights Samsung’s continuous support for sporting excellence, innovation, and global unity, is set to continue through 2028.

The IOC also confirmed to Reuters that the claims about Samsung withdrawing from its sponsorship are incorrect. The false news went viral due to the deceptive presentation of the satirical article, which included fabricated quotes and references to an anonymous IOC representative.

Despite the misleading nature of the original piece, Samsung’s official communications continue to showcase its active involvement with the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. 

The company has been a huge supporter of the Olympics since 1988, and its collaboration with the IOC has consistently aligned with promoting global unity and sporting achievements.
